CK are recruiting a trainee chartered accountant based in our audit and assurance department. The successful candidate will work as part of our team, delivering a full list of audit, accounting, taxation and advisory service, across a varied client base.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Working as part of a team obtaining audit evidence and carrying out audit testing through communication with client staff.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure our audit files have all relevant evidence to support the opinion of the financial statements.
  • Preparing statutory financial statements from client’s nominal ledger or core books and records.
  • Ensuring financial statements comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Analysing the client’s controls for strengths and weaknesses and outline recommendations.
  • Assisting the partner or manager with any ad hoc client work.

Person specification

  • Graduate with a 2.1 degree

CK are recruiting a semi senior to work in both the tax and accounts departments. The successful candidate will work across two busy departments and undertake a varied role working with both private (high net worth) and small business clients.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Completing financial statements for personal and corporate clients.
  • Completing personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Dealing with the administrative aspects of meeting deadlines, managing workload and ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Supporting partners and managers with all aspects of client compliance and reporting.
  • Liaising directly with clients to assist in general enquiries.
  • Managing junior members of staff
  • Supporting general practice administration.

Person specification

  • Past experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
  • Experience of preparation of business accounts and both personal and corporate tax returns is essential.
  • Good knowledge of accounts and tax administration, including VAT, Self Assessment and Corporate Tax.
  • CCH Practice Accounting and Tax software produces beneficial but not essential.
  • Flexible and positive personality with good interpersonal skills.
